Montenegro (Црна Гора/Crna Gora) is a former Yugoslav country located in Southeastern Europe with an area of 13,812 km in total. In the south-west, it has a coast on the Adriatic Sea, while to the west, it borders with Croatia ; to the northwest with Bosnia and Herzegovina ; Serbia to the northeast ; Kosovo to the east ; Albania to the southeast. Montenegro’s territory extends over parts of the Karst of the western Balkan Peninsula. The country has gradually recovered from the war and is now sought after by tourists for its beautiful surroundings.

LANGUAGE

The official language is Montenegrin (2007 Constitution). Most of the population, however, speaks Serbian language (63.49 %) of the Iyekavian dialect. Bosnian, Albanian and Croatian are also spoken.
