Traditional Central-European Travel Trade Fairs – GO, REGIONTOUR and MICE Brno – presented the visitors the offer of more than hundreds of destinations. They were attended by firms from 21 countries on the exhibition space of 10,503 metres square (inter-annual increase of 5%). Most visitors came surprisingly as early as on the first day, i.e. almost 11,000 professionals. On the first two days, reserved in particular for trade visitors, almost 17,000 visitors were registered by BVV ticket offices. The number of people is estimated to exceed 30,000. Foreign visitors came from 18 countries, in particular from neighbouring Slovakia, Poland and Germany, however, individual visitors also arrived from Albania, Ukraine, Ethiopia or Egypt. At the Press Center altogether 453 journalists were accredited, among them 30 from abroad – Poland, Russia and Slovakia.

The REGIONTOUR Fair occupied the largest hall of the Brno Exhibition Centre and its offer fully filled the space of Hall P. Regions from the whole Czech and also Slovak Republic competed in attraction of their stands and various advertisement, historical and fairy-tale creatures, dummies of sporting events etc. walked through the hall, music played, local specialties were tasted. Emphasized topics were gastronomy, folk crafts, folklore and church memorable objects.

The GO fair has been aimed at tours. In addition to home travel offices and agencies also providers of tourist services in popular foreign destinations and at foreign tourist head offices were present. For the first time two stages with attractive program were opened in Hall P, staged by the Association of Travel Offices CZ and Association of Czech Travel Offices and Travel Agencies.

VIP guests and “key” discussions

The fairs were supported by the participation of the TOP department representatives. The ceremonial cutting of the tap was carried out by Minister for Local Development, Mr. Kamil Jankovsky, state secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Building-up and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Arpad Ersek, administrator of the South-Moravian region Michal Hasek, chairman of the Trnava region Tibor Mikus ans the Lord-Mayor of the City of Brno Roman Onderka.

Next run of the GO, REGIONTOUR and MICE Brno will be staged from January 12 – 15, 2012.
