After a three-months forced break, life finally returned to the Prague Congress Centre on May 27. PCC hosted an all day conference NZIS-Open 2020 presented by Institute of Health Information and Statistics of The Czech Republic (ÚZIS) in order to analyse and summarize coronavirus crises in Czechia. The event took place under the aegis of the Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch, the authorized Chief Hygienist of the Czech Republic Dr. Jarmila Rážová, Ph.D. and others.

The organizers of the meeting chose the spacious Panorama Hall with the area of 532 m2 and a view of Prague Castle. During the event, the obligatory 2-meter spacing with 100 seats was ensured without any problems. Furthermore, the PCC team provided regular disinfection of the premises, including entrances and foyers. Another security element is optional, depending on organizer’s preferences – the temperature measurement for visitors entering the building.

In addition to hygiene measures relating to the current situation, PCC introduces  innovative services such as a virtual studio – PCC live TV studio, which allows access to live broadcasts and the ability to connect with its visitors through the studio via Skype, CISCO Webex, Teams, Zoom, etc. Very popular are so-called hybrid conferences, and one of them was NZIS-Open 2020. Hybrid conference means that there is a part of the participants physically attending the event, and another part is connected virtually with the possibility to ask the presenters real-time questions. In this case, another 300 participants signed up for the live streaming online.

The conference presented a new information system for infectious diseases (ISIN), epidemiological data sets for central and regional pandemic management, epidemiological models, and predictions, etc.

“It is a great honour for us that the conference took place here at this time and with this content. We take it as a proof of trust in a time with new rules and new services,” said Jan Ferjenčík, Sales and Marketing Director of the congress centre.

Other extra PCC services include the possibility to connect from the virtual studio to the Car Cinema screen in front of the PCC with a follow-up to the film screening. There is also an exclusive package for adopting a chair at the PCC’s Congress Hall, thanks to which you get a ticket for a selected performance,  a star with your name under the chair and for example also a dinner at the Esprit – Holiday Inn Restaurant.
